The Reedy Creek Improvement District is the governing entity at Walt Disney World in Florida. I intentionally limited the scope of this article to the original Disneyland park in California (and more specifically, Disneyland during its first decade) in part because examining WDW opens many other avenues of exploration that would distract from the issues I was trying to highlight here. But yeah, RCID (and Walt Disney World in general) is also a fascinating case study.
